Hello movie makers. I hope this finds you well.

Welcome to SARCE 2018. Shiz Annual Red Carpet Event (SARCE) is the building of a collective of emerging and seasoned filmmakers who wish to bring a positive and entertaining spin to the world of cinema. We are open to filmmakers of all genres; to include documentaries, animations, comedy, horror, action, and human interest. It takes a lot of time, energy, money, and creativity to create. This event is to bring forth the hard work we put into our films.

There is a checklist of what is needed. We are using a movie theater with 7.1 surround sound (Dolby Atmos) and 4K projectors. The movie must be encoded into a DCP format (Digital Cinema Package). The list is long. We want to produce a quality film screening event so please read below. Any questions, please Email sarcefest@shiz.tv.

1.       Please copy and paste the contents of this web page and send an Email to sarcefest@shiz.tv acknowledging the information on this page. Once you acknowledge via Email, there is no turning back. Your movie will be shown at SARCE. Please follow the instructions below so we can have a great event this year with your movies in the playlist. (This bullet is changed for the perspective of Email vs. website. In the Email, it mentions to reply to the Email.)

2.       Don’t have a DCP Package? It will be done for you. What we need is the best video quality and audio quality file you have. If your movie is in 2.0 stereo sound, you can send us the video file with the audio embedded. If you prefer to send us a separate wave file, that is okay as well. If your movie is in 5.1 surround sound, you will need to send us the video file with the 7.1 or 5.1 audio track embedded or send the video file and the 6 or 8 individual audio files. Please make sure you label each audio file with the speaker positioning in the filename. Please do not ZIP the file, ZIP files usually get corrupted. Please upload each DCP file independently.

3.       If you like, you can produce your own DCP Package and upload that. Please do not ZIP the file, ZIP files usually get corrupted. Please upload each DCP file independently.

4.       Please send us an Email of the movie specifications; aspect ratio, the audio specifications, video specifications (like 1080p, 2K or 4K), and if you have a DCP created already.

5.       You do not have to purchase the DCP package as we will do it for you and showcase it in the event. However, you only must purchase if you would like a copy of the DCP package. If you create your own DCP package, no charge. Please follow the link for our rates on DCP packages.

6.       The deadline to send your media files is May 11, 2018. By replying to this Email, you are agreeing to this.

7.       Our web site will be an archive of this event. All graphics you send us, and two freeze frames of your movie will permanently be archived on our site. We will not upload your movie to show outside of the event, but we will grab two frames for display on our web site. By replying to this Email, you are agreeing to this.

8.       We will grab two 2-8 second clips (no more than 2 clips, no more than 8 seconds each), from your movie for promotional purposes for this year’s SARCE and future SARCE. We will be choosing the clips. By replying to this Email, you are agreeing to this.

9.       We need either or both; horizontal graphic and/or vertical poster of your movie. Please send us the best quality graphic of your poster. Please send us the graphics as soon as you can right away, so we can add your movie entry to the web site. sarcefest@shiz.tv

10.   Please send an Email to sarcefest@shiz.tv with your name, production company name, city, state, province, country information, Twitter address, Facebook movie page URL or production company URL, other social media links, etc.

11.   All Email communications can be sent to sarcefest@shiz.tv. Any questions, comments, suggestions, let us know.

12.   Please create a folder in Dropbox or Google Drive. Upload your video files, graphics, poster, photos and DCP Package. Invite us to the folder so we can download your files.

13.   This is optional: If you have a few behind the scenes photos from the film shoot, we usually flash them on the screen while people are entering the theater. We would like to add your photos as well. 1-5 photos are good. Please send that to sarcefest@shiz.tv.

14.   If you like to attend the event yourself, please go to https://sarce.us/tickets/ and get your tickets. If you are from out of town, here is a link that has a list of hotels in the area:

15.   This is optional. If you like, record a short OUTRO video. It does not have to be professional, a selfie video is fine. Please record yourself stating your name, city, state, country, and a short description about your film. Please keep it under one or two minutes and act like the movie has just played and say, ‘thank you for watching our movie to the audience.’ Please upload that file with the rest of your files to Dropbox. I will convert it to DCP for you. Just make sure the lighting is descent and the audio is clear. Try to keep the camera still while you are recording yourself if your camera does not have good stabilization. If you want to do it professionally, that is your choice. If you are a minor (17 or younger), please have your parents or guardians in the video with you at the same time. Group videos are nice. If you like to edit the video, that is okay as well. No adult language please and have fun with it. You are talking to our audience!

We have our own YouTube and Vimeo sites for our events, but we will not upload your movies to our channel. We will only upload your outro videos. If your videos are PUBLIC on your YouTube channel, we will add your video to the playlist. You can send us a link to a trailer on YouTube that is publicly available if your movie is not public.
